Students with a diploma obtained outside the Netherlands
If you have a diploma from a school outside the Netherlands, you must have passed the national, standardised examinations for university entrance. You will need at least a pass in mathematics, business studies or accounting.
For example: GCSEs, grades A, B or C in four subjects with at least two or more A-levels, International Baccalaureate, Abitur or Fachhochschulreife, Baccalauréat or another diploma equivalent to the Dutch havo, vwo or mbo level 4 diploma. All diplomas will be reviewed by the School of Economics and Management.
Language requirements
International students
As English is the language of instruction we require students with a diploma other than a diploma of: The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland, United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand to sit an IELTS- or TOEFL-test. To ensure your knowledge of the English language does not limit your opportunity to complete the programme successfully, we require an objective, standardised proof of your English language skills.
Only the original results of an IELTS or TOEFL test are recognised as a valid and reliable assessment of the candidate’s language ability. Minimum scores are: IELTS on academic level an overall band score of 6.0 with no subscore below 5.5, TOEFL internet based test 80 and TOEFL paper based test 550. The test should not be more than 2 years old.
Dutch students
Students with a Dutch mbo level 4, havo or vwo diploma and a score in English lower than 7 are advised to take an IELTS test. This will determine whether their level of English is good enough to study in English.
Study selection interviews
The IBMS programme will conduct an online assessment and intake interview as from September 2012. The outcome of this assessment gives you a good idea whether the programme might be the right choice for you. We are currently developing this assessment. You will receive an invitation once you are being admitted to the programme.
