IFM programme

The IFM programme is a four-year bachelor’s programme taught entirely in English. It will give you the tools you need to advise on major financial matters in public and privately owned companies, international banks, investment firms and other organisations.

Years 1 & 2: international financial management in theory and practice

The first year provides the basics of international financial management. You’ll be running your own business with a group of students and in the first semester you’ll make a start with the core IFM subjects Financial & Management Accounting and study Marketing Management, Management & Organisation, Cross Cultural Analysis, Management Information Systems.
All communications classes are in English and study of an extra foreign language (French, German, Spanish or Dutch for non-native Dutch speakers) is also part of your programme.

Years 3 & 4: personalise your programme and study abroad

The last two years of the programme allow you to personalise your studies. During your third year, you will go abroad: you will be enrolled in an exchange programme at one of our 110 partner universities worldwide for one semester. You will spend the other semester of your third year doing an internship at an international business or organisation, preferably abroad. During your fourth year, you will return for lectures at the Amsterdam campus and complete your studies by writing a thesis on a real-world assignment in the field of corporate finance, management or financial accounting or management information systems.
