Enrolment

Have you figured out which study programme is right for you? Then it is time to enrol via Studielink. Before you do, make sure to check the admission page of the programme which you wish to study to see whether additional admission requirements or a special enrolment procedure are applied. Especially international programmes have earlier deadlines and special procedures.

Enrolment applications for bachelor's programmes via Studielink

Final date for applying for the next academic year is 31 August.

In order to enrol, follow the steps below.

  • Go to studielink.
  • Log in using your DigiD.
  • If you live in the Netherlands, you must log in using your DigiD. If you do not have a DigiD yet, apply for one here.
  • If you do not live in the Netherlands, you can apply for a user name and password by clicking on the ‘Request login details and log in’ button.
  • Make sure to select the correct academic year. If you wish to start after the summer, make sure to select “01-09-2012/31-08-2013 academic year”
Draw procedure: If the study programme of your choice applies a draw procedure, make sure to apply for and activate your DigiD by 15 April at the latest! If you do not activate your DigiD before this date, you will miss the 15 May enrolment deadline.

I have submitted my enrolment application via Studielink, what is next?

Submitting an enrolment application via Studielink does not equal actual enrolment. First, the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS/HvA) must check whether you meet the various requirements:

  • Your diploma (senior general secondary education, university preparatory education or senior secondary vocational education level 4) has been verified by the AUAS/HvA or DUO and offers access to the study programme of your choice. Alternatively, you have successfully completed an admission assessment at the AUAS/HvA.
  • Your personal details have been verified by the Municipal Database (via Studielink) or the AUAS/HvA.
  • Your have paid your tuition fees prior to the start of the academic year or your fully completed and signed payment authorisation has been received by the Central Student Administration.
  • You have met any additional requirements applied by your study programme of choice.

Log in to Studielink to track the status of your enrolment at the AUAS/HvA. You can also terminate your enrolment or change your details here.

Termination of enrolment/Restitution of tuition fee

You can terminate your enrolment at any time during the academic year via Studielink. Studielink will forward all terminations of enrolment to the AUAS/HvA Central Student Administration. A calculation will then be made to determine how much tuition fees you owe over the period in which you were enrolled.

Situations in which you are eligible for restitution of tuition fees:

  • if you have graduated
  • if you have paid your statutory tuition fee and have submitted a request for termination of enrolment via Studielink, you will receive a restitution of the tuition fees for the months in which you are no longer enrolled (this does not apply to the months July and August).

Please note: If you have paid your institutional tuition fee, you may terminate your enrolment but will not be entitled to restitution

Procedure

It may take several weeks to process your termination of enrolment. If you have paid a higher fee than what you owe, the excess amount will be paid back to the account from which it was withdrawn. If the amount withdrawn from your account was too low, the outstanding balance will be automatically debited from your account. You will receive written confirmation of your termination of enrolment.

Student financial assistance and Public Transport (OV) card

If you are receiving financial assistance via the DUO-IB Groep you are responsible for cancelling both the financial assistance as well as the Public Transport (OV) card by contacting the DUO-IB Groep. You must deactivate your student Public Transport (OV) card within 5 working days of the date of your termination of enrolment.

Appeals

If you do not agree with the termination of enrolment date or procedure, you may file an appeal with the Legal Affairs department

1 February?

Please note: there have been rumours that all tuition fees will be cancelled if students terminate their enrolment before 1 February. This is not the case. Students at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, University of Applied Sciences, are required to pay for the entire period during which they were enrolled. This rumour is based on a misunderstanding of the regulations for performance-linked student grants. For more information, please refer to the DUO-IB Groep website

Re-enrolment

As a student at the AUAS/HvA, you will receive notifications from both Studielink and the Central Student Administration in May, asking whether you wish to re-enrol.

If you wish to continue your current study programme in the upcoming academic year, it is important to re-enrol as soon as possible - and no later than 1 September. If you do not re-enrol by this date, you will no longer be linked up to the& AUAS/HvA’s student administration enrolment system via Studielink as of 1 September. This means you will no longer be able to access enrolment facilities in Studielink.

How do I re-enrol?

Go to www.hva.studielink.nl and

  • select ‘Possible re-enrolments’ on your homepage
  • on the next page, select ‘re-enrol’ from the list of available actions for enrolment in the current academic year
  • follow the various steps and confirm your re-enrolment
  • your re-enrolment will now be submitted and processed by the AUAS/HvA

Along with your re-enrolment notification, an invitation and payment authorisation form will also be sent to your AUAS/HvA mailbox so that you can pay your tuition fees for the upcoming academic year.

Do you want to withdraw your enrolment?

If you do not want to continue your study programme at the end of the academic year, go to www.hva.studielink.nl and click on the ‘Possible re-enrolments’ button. Now click on the name of your study programme and click on the ‘do not re-enrol’ button.

You have now indicated that you do not wish to continue your study programme, and will not receive a request for payment from the AUAS/HvA. Please note: the ‘Application for termination of enrolment’ button should only be used if you wish to terminate your enrolment during the academic year.
