If you are going to study in the Netherlands as a foreign student, you may need to apply for a Visa ‘Machtiging tot Voorlopig Verblijf’ (MVV) before arrival. An MVV is only an entry document. Once arrived in the Netherlands you will need a Residence Permit (VVR) to make your stay legal. Your MVV application must be handled by the International Office of the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, University of Applied Sciences; you cannot apply for it yourself.
