Daalwijk

The newly renovated Daalwijk apartment building is located in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost (South East), a multicultural neighbourhood also known as the Bijlmer. The front side of the building has been built exclusively for students and has a separate entrance, bicycle storage, and a launderette. Most of the student rooms, 150 of the 232, will be offered to international students of the AUAS/HvA and specifically to those who will be studying at the School of Economics and Management and School of Health Professions. The other student rooms in this apartment block are inhabited by Dutch students.
The Daalwijk apartment building has 2-, 3- and 4-room apartments. The living room, kitchen and bathroom are shared with one to three other residents. All rooms are furnished and have their own internet connection. There is a television in the communal kitchens. These facilities are included in the rent, as well as heating, electricity and water. At Daalwijk there are 3 Resident Assistants (RA's).
The Daalwijk apartment building is located near the School of Economics and Management, the Bijlmer railway / metro station and a large shopping / entertainment area. The train or metro will take you to the centre of Amsterdam within 15 minutes. By bike, it will take about 30-45 minutes. You may also take your bicycle with you on the metro. In the shopping centre, the Amsterdamse Poort, you will find major chain stores, small shops and authentic ethnic food takeaways. For entertainment you can visit the Amsterdam Arena home to the Amsterdam soccer club Ajax and where major concerts take place. In the Heineken Music Hall, you can visit other popular concerts. For cinema entertainment, you can go to the largest cinema complex in Amsterdam, Pathé Cinema, with an IMAX screen.
Fraijlemaborg

The modern and spacious Fraijlemaborg apartment building is located in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost (South East), a multicultural neighbourhood also known as the Bijlmer. This apartment block is exclusively available to international students and houses a total of 170 residents; 167 international students and 3 Resident Assistants (RA’s).
There are a number of private rooms with shared facilities and private rooms with private facilities. All rooms are furnished and have a wired internet connection. International students of the AUAS/HvA and specifically those who study at the School of Economics and Management will be offered one of the rooms in the Fraijlemaborg apartment block. The Fraijlemaborg apartment building is located next to the HvA School of Economics and Management and near the Bijlmer railway / metro station and a large shopping / entertainment area. Eenhoorn

The Eenhoorn apartment building is located in the East / Watergraafsmeer district of Amsterdam. It is one of the few new large-scale student housing developments that Amsterdam has seen in a while. The name is said to come from a bar that was located in the area and was popular with German migrant workers who worked in or around Amsterdam during the 16th to 18th century.
The Eenhoorn offers single rooms with private facilities. The rooms are furnished and have a wired internet and television connection. These facilities are included in the rent, as well as heating, electricity and water. A small number of the rooms are made available to international students of the AUAS/HvA. The Eenhoorn apartment building is next to the Amstel railway / metro station from where you can reach the centre of Amsterdam within 10 minutes. By bike, it will take about 15-20 minutes. You may also take your bicycle with you on the metro. In just 10 minutes by bike, you will be in two of the most popular neighbourhoods of Amsterdam, the Pijp and the Indische Buurt. These neighbourhoods are home to many small shops, relaxing parks, art house cinemas and cultural breeding grounds like the Trouw Building, a former newspaper office which is now a meeting place for contemporary artists and local bands. If you are interested in more popular entertainment, you can take the metro to the Bijlmer area where the Heineken Music Hall and the largest cinema complex in Amsterdam, Pathé Cinema, with an IMAX screen are situated.
Meer en Vaart

The Meer en Vaart apartment building is located in the Western district of Amsterdam, in a multicultural, green and spacious neighbourhood called Osdorp. This apartment building has 13 independent rooms on each landing and one large communal kitchen. All rooms have their own private bathroom and are furnished and wireless internet, heating, electricity and water are all included in the rental price. A small number of the rooms are made available to international students of the AUAS/HvA and specifically to those who study at the School of Sports and Nutrition. The Meer en Vaart apartment building is located near the School of Sports and Nutrition and several sports parks. It has good bus and tram connections to the city centre of Amsterdam. Public transport will take you there within 20 minutes. By bike, it is a 30 minute ride. Next to this apartment block is a big shopping centre called Osdorp Plein, where you will find major chain stores, many small shops and a bazaar. On the other side is a large lake, the Sloterplas, where you can barbeque, kayak or jog around as many people from this neighbourhood often do.
Laan van Spartaan
The Laan van Spartaan apartment building is located in the Western district of Amsterdam. It is a multicultural neighbourhood called Geuzenveld. This apartment block consists of several small apartments. A small number of the rooms are reserved for international students of the AUAS/HvA and specifically those who study at the School of Sports and Nutrition.
The Laan van Spartaan apartment building is located near the School of Sports and Nutrition and next to several sports parks. It has good bus and tram connections to the city centre of Amsterdam. Public transport will take you there within 15 minutes. By bike, it is also a 15 minute ride. Near this apartment block is a large shopping centre called Bos en Lommerplein where you will find major chain stores and small shops. On the other side there is a big lake, the Sloterplas, where you can barbeque, kayak or jog around as many people from this neighbourhood often do.
Rode Kruislaan

The student residences on the Rode Kruislaan are situated in Diemen. Even though Diemen has its own city council and mayor, it is closer to Amsterdam’s city centre than some other parts of Amsterdam. Most international students from the AUAS/HvA will be allocated a room on the Rode Kruislaan. Most floors have six independent rooms and one (large) communal kitchen. The rooms are approximately 12 m2 and have their own private bathroom, they are furnished and have internet. Most international student rooms are situated in buildings or on floors with other international students. However, some are also located on floors where the majority of tenants are Dutch. It is easy to access the city from Diemen. In addition, you can go for a walk along the Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal to experience typically Dutch cultural landscapes. It is only a short bike ride to the Amsterdam neighbourhoods Oost (East), IJburg and Zuid-Oost ( South-East). In Amsterdam Oost, there is an ice skating rink called the Jaap Eden baan. This outdoor skating rink is open during the winter months and will give you the chance to experience this popular Dutch outdoor activity. During the summer months you can grab your bike and go to IJburg. This area is famous for its modern architecture and there is also a beach area called Blijburg. It is an excellent place for a swim in the IJsselmeer, sunbathing or visiting one of their many (beach) parties.
Shared rooms
Shared rooms (only for students from School of Design and Communication, School of Education, School of Social Work & Law, School of Technology)
Students with a lower income can apply for a shared room. A shared room means you will live in one room with another student (same gender). In most shared rooms the kitchen is situated in the room itself and there is no other common room available. The locations of these shared rooms are in or near the centre of Amsterdam.
Single rooms
Single rooms (only for students from School of Design and Communication, School of Education, School of Social Work & Law, School of Technology)
Students with a higher income can apply for a single room in or near the centre of Amsterdam. A single room means a private bedroom but not necessarily private facilities (kitchen and/or bathroom).
